Fresh from local Estate, BROUGHT OVER FROM GERMANY IN THE 1930'S we have a pleasure to offer you this gorgeous antique Black Forest Hall Tree Rack. Made in 19th century, ca 1880-1890, immaculately carved rich wood, great curves and detail. It features a center tree, with a large mother bear standing at the base and a cub baby bear, sitting at the top of the tree. Each bear is done to perfection, cute as a button ! (please take a look at the details, even the teeth). There is an umbrella section on the bottom, a loop that holds the umbrellas above and the metal tray placed on the bottom. Towards the top is an oval mirror, and a pair of carved faux "horns" , each one pointing out, for hanging the coats and hats. Each one of the "horns" unscrews, it is on a large threaded dowel. The entire structure separates down the middle, also made as a large threaded dowel, unscrews, and when tightened it lines up the tree lines to perfection. I will make it a point again, this is an original antique piece, of high quality, and not a reproduction of any sort. Condition is good, shows signs of use and age wear, one split on the wood, with a gap. Entire piece measures a towering 86" tall, 26" wide, and 23" deep. All things considered, a spectacular functional piece of high quality, good for any Black Forrest collection, and even better for use. Will read more
