KAORU KAWANO - Art KAORUkAWANO was one of the first artists of the Japanese Sosaku Hanga movement whose art became successful and was widely accepted and awarded by an international audience. Today he is regarded as one of the masters of modern Japanese printmaking. His color woodblock prints have brought him international fame and his works are represented in museums throughout the world. The Woodcut is in excellent condition. It was created in mid-20 th Century. ARTIST HISTORY: A fine Sosaku hanga artist, Kaoru Kawano began his art studies at the Kawabata Art School in 1934. His first published woodcuts were accepted by the Japan Print Association (Nihon Hanga Kyokai) in 1944.
