A Superb Pair Of New England Black Painted Windsor Bow Back Chairs ca. 1810Boston, Massachusetts Circa 1800-1820'sVery finely crafted windsor chairs. Black Painted with Gold Accents over the original black paint. The current surface is probably circa 1890's. well worn patina, and surface. A very elegant pair of chairs.White Pine Seats with Oak bows, and Maple Turned legs, stretchers, and spindles.Excellent Condition.A interesting idiosyncratic feature, is that one chair seat is slightly taller that the other, however the backs are the same height. These chairs were made in the same shop, and the tooling marks are the same to support this evidence.36" tall overall, 18" seat width, 16 seat depth, 16 1/2", and 17" Seat height.
