This vintage stein is Imperial Eagle 2951 by Mettlach featuring a detailed white raised relief cameo imperial eagle cameo on a grey-green background. The stoneware stein is completed by a pewter lid with decorative thumb lever attached to the pottery handle. To the left of the handle is an incised 1/2 L mark with a black line. The bottom of the stein features an incised castle logo with Mettlach beneath, Ges Gesch, the pattern number of 2951, and the numbers 04, II, and 16. This item is in overall excellent shape with no cracks, chips, or repairs noted - the eagle is very clean. The lid does have a few spots of discoloration appropriate to the age of the piece. The lid hinge is still quite tight and the lid will stay in whatever position it is left in.
